Social Media Marketing Takes Time

Another AMAZING article by Lawrence Perry with Official Wire

"Success in social media marketing does not happen overnight"

There are many types of social media from blogs, social networking sites such as Twitter and facebook, media-sharing websites such as YouTube and Flickr, professional working sites like Linkedin and so many more websites and applications that help people connect and communicate with people online.

To get the best results from online marketing, companies should engage clients and potential customers through various channels. Companies should also be consistent when it comes to communicating with clients through social media- not only should the messages be consistent all throughout the various channels, companies should also ensure that their online accounts are updated regularly.  There are many reasons why it is very important to keep social media accounts updated.  Updating social accounts will help companies gain more followers or contacts on their network.  Regular updates also help people stay completely tuned-in to your account.  Success with social media marketing does not happen overnight.  You need to continuously build your network, create good content, think of ways to engage your followers in meaningful exchanges and think of good ways to benefit from social media.  The problem with maintaining various social media accounts is that it takes time- a lot of time in fact.   To maximize the benefits of social media such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and MySpace, you need to put in some time and effort into all these accounts.  This may not be easy for small business owners who are already spending so much time dealing with the day-to-day operations of the business.

A business owner who wants to benefit from social media but don’t have the time to engage in social marketing can go about it two ways: hire a virtual assistant to manage all social media accounts or hire a VA to do all the day-to-day, repetitive tasks in the business while the business- owner focuses on all social media accounts.

If a business owner get excited with all that is happening online and the endless possibilities that social media offer then the business owner is really better off outsourcing all the administrative tasks to a VA so that he or she can explore social media marketing.  If the business owner’s core competency is within the business operations and he or she has no idea how to take advantage of social media then the task of managing social media accounts should be outsourced to the VA.  The important thing is for the business owner to ensure that someone is spending time on the social media.
