While global ad outlook stays gloomy, online marketing shines

Another Great Article from KomarketingAssociates about how marketing shines!

Despite the fact that the global advertising industry will see an 8.5 percent decrease in spending by the end of this year, online marketing will rise 10.1 percent.

That's the findings of a recent report from ZenithOptimedia which predicts that online marketing will be the only bright spot in an overall dull marketing picture.

Just as similar reports have found this year, the ZenithOptimedia study suggests that more traditional forms of marketing will see their budgets drop throughout the remainder of 2009 with television predicted to fall 7.1 percent.

However, the numbers for online marketing continue to swell with the company predicting that the marketing segment will make up 15.1 percent of all marketing by 2011. It also appears that online marketing is seeing its figures increase on the back of search engine marketing (SEM).

The report predicts that search will see a 20 percent increase by the end of this year compared to only 1.8 percent for classifieds.

These numbers seem to be in line with a recent study from BtoB magazine which found that 26.1 percent of companies said they would increase online spending this year while that number more than doubles to 53.1 percent for 2010.ADNFCR-1844-ID-19253488-ADNFCR
