Google improves in online PR analyst's search rankings
Google's share of the US search market increased by 0.84 percentage points during September, according to new figures.Statistics from Experian Hitwise, which provides analytics for the online marketing services industry, showed that the company accounted for 71.08 per cent of all searches during the four-week rolling period ending October 3rd, ahead of Yahoo! Search, Bing and Ask.com.Yahoo! experienced a 0.58 percentage point drop to 16.38 per cent, while Bing fell 0.52 percentage points to 8.96 per cent.However, Ask.com improved its position by 0.19 percentage points to 2.56 per cent, making it the month's biggest gainer proportionally, with eight per cent growth.The Hitwise numbers compare to comScore's US search engine rankings, which also put Google in first place for August, albeit with a 64.6 per cent market share following a month-on-month decline of 0.1 percentage points.Yahoo!
