The web is more than a new medium, as it has revolutionized the field of marketing. Few organizations seem to “get it”, focusing, at best, on details like graphic design or search engine performance while ignoring more important truths related to “turning on” prospects and customers. In the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce’s July 20 Lunchbox Lesson, Mark Figart will discuss the four principles behind today’s most successful online marketing efforts, and which apply to organizations of all sizes.
• Markets, not you or your firm, are in charge of your brand. (We all have a brand, regardless of how much we’ve thought about it.)
• The internet is not conducive to keeping secrets, and we shouldn’t try.
• Stories are life’s most compelling expression, online and off.
*
• Conversations build trust, a fundamental prerequisite to making a sale.
Why this is important?
The web evolved from a novelty to the single most important business marketing tool over the course of a single decade. Even though technology makes publishing on the internet less expensive, organizational budgets dedicated to building and maintaining an effective web marketing program will continue to climb. Unfortunately, old rules don’t apply, and budgets dedicated to techniques that conform to old rules have little chance of achieving an acceptable return on your investment.
In this fun and colorful session you will:
• be introduced to a modern, effective framework for assessing your web site and related marketing efforts;
• be re-energized through a clearer understanding of how to implement a successful web marketing effort;
• find inspiration through a discussion of real-life case studies.
In April 2001 Mark Figart left the world of Fortune 500 consulting to found Digett, a Boerne agency focused on developing world-class online marketing programs. Entering its ninth year, Digett works with clients of all sizes and is recognized for its achievements in web design and its expertise in the popular Drupal content management system.
This Lunchbox Lesson will be held at the Holiday Inn on Monday, July 20 from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided by our Lesson sponsor, Jefferson Bank.
